On Friday, 16 June 2017, Mr. Ugen Choephel, one of our
senior Tibetan teachers passed away at the age of 61 after a brief illness. The
news saddened the whole school and came as a complete shock to everyone of us.
As soon as we heard about his sudden unfortunate demise, a prayer was held in
the school hall and the staff members rushed to his staff quarter to console
and help the deceased family. The school’s Staff Welfare Committee took the
main responsibilities under the guidance of the school authorities and
distributed the work among the staff members. Every one whole heartedly stood
by the family in this unfortunate mishap.
It was finally today that his body was cremated at the
auspicious and sacred place of Buddhist called ‘Tso Pema’, Rewalsar in Mandi
District as per the Buddhist rituals.
He will always be remembered by each and every one of us
here at TCV School Chauntra. Our heartfelt condolence goes to the family!
