TIBET OUR COUNTRY PROJECT

TCV Chauntra Tibet Our Country ProjectTibet Our Country Project is one of the prime activities in TCV Schools where children get to know a lot about our country, Tibet. This program is specially designed in such a way that children get to feel the true essence of the rich and the unique culture of our great nation. The key objective of organizing such program in the school is to educate and impart the knowledge in our children about our country and keep them connected with their roots.
TCV Chauntra Tibet Our Country ProjectSo here in our school TCV School Chauntra, the conclusion day function was held on 26 April 2017 on the very auspicious day of Lhakar, ‘the White Wednesday’ after almost a month long research, study and preparation.
TCV Chauntra Tibet Our Country ProjectThe day started with the incense burning prayer (SANGSOL in Tibetan) at 7 a.m. in the morning. It was soon followed by the presentation on this particular ritual by the students of class 3. After the prayer the staff members and children participated in the traditional circular dance called ‘Gorshey’. It was indeed a very special morning to all of us.
The focus area of this year’s program is ‘SECULAR ETHICS’. Every class had to do research, learn and prepare presentations either directly or indirectly related with it particularly. The program covers a wide range and varieties of topic presentations that it was not possible to complete in one day. As every topic is important, the school administration decided to provide opportunities to every class to display and showcase their activities during the morning assembly. Every class participated as according to their own class level and as per their age group. There are dramas, songs, power point presentations and whole lot as such the program is still on the go.
Hopefully we shall be able to give a complete conclusion to this special program within this week. Happy learning everyone and be proud of your country and your nation!!!

CHANGES IN SCHOOL ADMINISTRATION

TCV Chauntra Administration change
TCV School Chauntra yet again experienced another huge change in the school administration section. Today at 12 noon, all the staff and the children gathered in school hall to attend a special function or a ceremony for the valediction of the outgoing Headmaster Mr. Dawa Gyatso who had served this school since the year 2004. He has dedicated almost thirteen years service to this school. During these years he had worked for the welfare of the children and the staff. He was a good, understanding and approachable leader. He was specially very close and caring towards the children.

The school Principal Mr. Passang Tsering congratulated him by offering the traditional white scarf and a memento for being promoted to TCV Gopalpur for the post of Senior School’s Headmaster. We would like to wish him all the best of luck for his future endeavor and hope his leadership will grow and flourish for the betterment of the children and the school.

On this very occasion we were also introduced to our new Headmaster and Assistant Headmaster of the school. Thus we are honored to have our former Assistant Headmaster, Mr. Karma Tashi for our new Headmaster and Mr. Choetop Tashi, the Social Science teacher of senior section as our new Assistant Headmaster.

Mr. Karma Tashi is one of the most senior staff members of this school. He has served this school for more than 27 years. He joined this school as a teacher in 1990 and worked as Assistant Headmaster since 1997. He is obviously the most experienced and most well deserved candidate for this post.

Mr. Choetop Tashi, the new Assistant Headmaster has served this school since 2005 as a social teacher. He has off and on been the Chairperson of different committees in our school. Therefore he has experience and good leadership qualities.

Therefore we would like to wish both of them heartfelt good wishes on behalf of all the children and the staff members of TCV School Chauntra.

WORKSHOP FOR THE HOME MOTHERS ON NUTRITION

tcv chauntra WORKSHOP FOR THE HOME MOTHERS ON NUTRITION
tcv chauntra WORKSHOP FOR THE HOME MOTHERS ON NUTRITION
The importance of nutrition cannot be denied, at any stage of life. The children spend most of their time here in the school away from home. Therefore it becomes very important for the school to watch over the holistic development of the child. And it starts from what food children intake at this period of young age. We need to have proper understanding about the nutritional values.
Thus the home mothers play pivotal role in children’s diet in the school as such a workshop was conducted in the school premises especially for the home mothers by Mrs. Kalsang Sharling, Director of TCV Mothers’ Training Centre with Dr. Bianca Maria Ext Preysch from Switzerland.

The content of the workshop was mainly about the intake of the nutrition needed and essential for the children in their growth at this particular period of time. It was very helpful and complete eye opening learning for our home mothers.
